The verbs {ruS} and {ngIng} were revealed at last year's (2016) qep'a'. I have written down for the defintions: {ruS} v. have a positive charge {ngIng} v. have a negative charge The KLI New Words List have these defined as: {ruS} v. have a positive charge, be positivily (sic) charged {ngIng} v. have a negative charge, be negatively charged Are these stative verbs? I copied the definitions from an image of the original qep'a' booklet which was posted online, and the "be" definitions weren't ther. Were they added/clarified later? -- De'vID

Lets say I'm writing a passage which concerns some "things".. In english I can write "these things are:", and after the ":" (which I don't know how you call it in english), I can continue by writing what these things are. Is it possible to do something similar in klingon ? Can someone write {Dochmeyvam bIH:} or {bIH Dochmeyvam'e':} ? And then continue by describing whatever it is he wants to describe ? And if the answer is yes, then what is preferable/more correct ? {Dochmeyvam bIH:} or {bIH Dochmeyvam'e':} ? qunnoq

Lets say there is a person, who is speaking/writing about a fact which according to him is true.. As soon as he finishes his speech/passage, another person wants to ask him "how do you know it (this fact) ? Would it be correct for him to say {chay' DaSov ?} And by the use of the prefix {Da-} the {Sov} having as an elided object the entire preceding speech/passage ? qunnoq

I have three answers to this, with grades of correctness. a) I would accept {chay' DaSov} with no objection, but I have no evidence this is correct. b) Taken the book, there is a way to refer to a previous sentence, maybe {chay' 'e' DaSov}, but this maybe wrong. c) To be on a very clean grammatical track, I would suggest to say what you even used in your question: {chay' ngoDvetlh DaSov?} "How do you know that fact?" While look at some canon phrases, I stumbled over a phrase from ST5: {yo'SeH yaHnIvvo' potlh De' wIHevtaH.} "We are receiving a priority message from Operations Command." I would have said {De' potlh} "important data" here. Is this an error, or is it just not much difference between "important data" and "data about something important"? -- Lieven L.
