A little bird told me, that in a deleted scene of the 2009 star trek movie, appears the phrase: tlhIngan wo' Daq'a' bo'elpu' you have entered the jurisdiction of the klingon empire Does anyone know, whether this phrase was written by 'oqranD ? Is the above translation of {Daq'a'} = jurisdiction, canon ? ~ nI'ghma

Two negations

I just realized something.. In english you say "I didn't do anything" In greek we say "I didn't do nothing" In english you say "I don't know anything" In greek we say "I don't know nothing" In english you say "I don't go anywhere" In greek we say "I don't go nowhere" I'm certain that you, being native english speakers, find the above greek phrases strange/wrong. On the other hand, I, being greek, find the english phrases strange/wrong. maj. The question is, why should I -in klingon-, write {vay' vIqaSmoHbe'} instead of {pagh vIqaSmoHbe'} ? Why should I write {vay' vISovbe'} instead of {pagh vISovbe'} ? Why {vogh vIjaHbe'} instead of {pagh Daq vIjaHbe'} ? Why should I follow the english way of expressing the above, instead of the greek ? ~ nI'ghma

While there might not be anything special about the number 25 to Klingons, local Terran culture puts significance on a quarter of a century. This year is the twenty-fifth Great Meeting, the qep'a' cha'maH vaghDIch, of the Klingon Language Institute, taking place July 19-21, 2018. For the first time in its history, the conference is being held in Indianapolis, the Crossroads of America. Come join in as we celebrate this unique language with songs, stories, study, and socializing. If you missed the registration discount last year, don't worry. Until the end of March, the cost is still only $45 for the three-day conference, including a t-shirt, pizza party, and other incidental swag. Don't delay too long, though. Our large meeting room is still finite in size. We hope to accommodate everyone who wants to attend, but there is a definite limit to the number of people we can accept.
