info from Maltz: entries in a dictionary/database
--- begin quote --- For purposes of boQwI’, “definition” would be {jIyweS} “translation, gloss.” It’s not a definition like in an English-only (or any-language-only) dictionary (that explains/describes a word’s meaning); it’s a quick tag to give you an idea of what the word means. For “entry,” Maltz suggests {ghu’lIS} “item in a list.” {pong} is okay for “name” in the sense you’re using it here. {pab buv} is good for “part of speech” --- end quote --- -- De'vID

Is it just me, or do these sound like someone has a really low opinion of translation glosses and list items and that they stink? qatlh Dajatlh? -- De'vID

Been second guessing myself a bit while updating my wordlist, so I might be stretching things a bit far. But one sounds like sewage backwards and the other could either be like sludge/slug backwards, or goulish forwards.

As nIqolay Q pointed out in another message, {jIyweS} is "g" + "loss". As for {ghu'lIS}, like nIqolay Q, I also think it's somehow related to {natlIS} ("[last but] not least"), but it's not clear what the {ghu'} part is. -- De'vID
