Good morning, I'm not sure this ever was a question, but I just talked with Marc Okrand about the verb {vech} "cross, span" and got some useful information. In the definition given at qep'a' 2018, examples were a bridge crossing a river, but also two fingers crossing. In the case of the bridge, the verb {vech} does not really mean that the bridge makes a connection between the two shores of the river, it's more the image of having two lengthy things overlaying each other and touch (visually) in one point. (This means the bridge might even be a mile long and not connect the two edges of the river, but still cross it). The way to use the verb is to say "A crosses B". In the case of the fingers, they cross each other, so you say {vechchuq nItlhDu'}. If you only say {vech nItlhDu'} the question comes: "what do they vech?" So, to say "I cross my fingers", you say {nItlhDu' vIvechchuqmoH}, and not {vIvechmoH}. -- Lieven L. Regarding my first sentence: Is the word order right? I've found this structure in some posts of this email list and on the Klingon Wiki: question word - timestamp - noun phrase + Type 5 suffix - adverbial - O - V - S But as I understand it, TKD is not very clear about this. Does that structure base on canonical sources? And what about having several adverbials or noun phrases + Type 5 suffix together? 2. If I want to connect two relative clauses which refer to the same noun, I use *'ej*, but if I want to connect two different nouns each one having a relative clause attached to, then I should use *je*, right? E.g.: *ngeDbogh meq motlh 'ej Dajbogh*, *meq motlh luSovlu'bogh ngeDbogh qechmey Daj je*. By the way: is it allowed to use a noun with a relative clause as part of a noun-noun-construction (eventually using *-'e'* if necessary)? Thank you very much!

A little bird told me that the {tlhInja} is a game of strategy which has been compared to chess. Cutting through the crap of "what something actually is to a non-existent alien race", does this info on {tlhInja} mean that in the same way we say {vIghro'} for "cat", {lIr} for "owl", etc, we can say {tlhInja} for chess? ~ Dana'an
