I expect this is probably going to be a “we don’t know (yet)” thing, but do we have any evidence to indicate whether or not the taboo against using {-vIp} with a prefix indicating a first person subject extends to using {ghIj} with a prefix indicating a first person object? Like, is it okay to be afraid of a concrete thing, but not okay of being afraid to do something? Or is the taboo against admitting to fear of any kind at all? {jagh vISuvvIp} - obviously taboo {mughIj jagh} - is this taboo? Or just a normal and expected reaction? {Dujeychugh jagh nIv yItuHQo'} and all, but {DughIjchugh jagh nIv, DatuHnIS'a'?}

Is DIn the opposite of qa'rI' ?

DIn (n) "open entryway (to corridor, tunnel, conduit, jeffries tube, branch of sewer)" qa'rI' (n) "end (of corridor, tunnel, conduit, jeffries tube, sewer, road, bridge, long field, etc)" Would you (yes *you*, you who are reading this), consider that DIn (n) is the opposite of qa'rI' (n) ? Because, seemingly/apparently, DIn (n) has to do *only* with enclosed spaces, whereas qa'rI' (n) refers to open spaces as well. ~ m. qunen'oS I find transliteration disturbing

Is idiom the same as slang ?

A little bird told me, that HQ 12.3 p.9 sept 2003, lists Soj as "matter, concern, affair". And it says, it is an idiomatic meaning of the word Soj "food, drink". Now, since the HQ transcription project went down the toilet, I don't know the exact passage I'm referring to, but I wonder.. Saying that this is "an idiomatic meaning of Soj", is the same as saying "it is a slang meaning" ? Is there a difference between an idiomatic use of a word and a slang word ? ~ m. qunen'oS have you ever heard of the tragedy of him who refused to adhere to ca'non ?

According to kcd, {Duran lung DIr} is a food item and it never takes any plural suffix. Is this a general rule with regards to all food ? i.e. that when something is used as food doesn't take plural suffixes ? ~ m. qunen'oS I find barking dogs disturbing
