Quick question for the po'wI'pu', if I have a sentence where both subject and object is explicitly stated, like: Doch lulegh ghotpu'. You can see the subject is a group and the object is a single thing, so is the prefix required at all? Thanks, -- mupwI'

When we say "cold warrior", I don't think that the actual meaning is "ready to fight" ; it is rather "ready to destroy without holding back or feeling remorse, perhaps bordering on the ruthless" May the Ca'non master forgive me, but I believe this would be better : {loghDaq SuvwI'pu' wIH chaH Hoch SuvwI'pu''e'}. mop Hurgh qunnoq

Ambiguity with regards to the beneficiary

We know that the {-vaD}, is to be used only for the purpose of marking the beneficiary/indirect object. When we had discussed the definition of the beneficiary/indirect object, we said : "the beneficiary/indirect object, is the one affected in a different way than the direct object". So, now I will ask : What if there is an ambiguity, as far as the "whether the wanna-be indirect object is actually affected ?". Take this example for instance : ghawran says to a soldier : "for the klingon empire be brave !" Someone could argue that the klingon empire, isn't the beneficiary. Why ? Because it is not affected by the "being brave" of the individual warrior. If he's a coward, then that's his problem, qar'a' ? Someone else though could say that the klingon empire is honored when a warrion is brave, therefore it is to be considered the beneficiary. So, what's the case here ? Verb suffix order

I believe it was some months ago, I had talked about the problem of remembering the order of the verb suffixes. Then I wrote, that I had the difficulty of remembering their order. In order to solve this problem, I followed this method : I memorized the suffixes of each type. And every day, I recited the entire order in mind. The important thing here, is while reciting the suffix list in your mind, to *feel* as you go from type 1 to type 9, some kind of "cascade". I can't quite put it in words, but you must *feel* as if you're going "down a ladder" (or up a ladder), so as your mind to get the feeling of what comes first, what follows and what comes last. After doing this for a few months, I can't say that always - while I write - the correct order of suffixes automatically appears in my mind, but the good thing is that even if I have to "actively" think for it, it takes just a couple of seconds. For the time being, its the best solution I have been able to find for this problem. mayqel
