The proverb *bogh tlhInganpu', SuvwI'pu' moj, Hegh* uses sentences in a series to convey events over time without a conjunction, but those are complete thoughts, and there's no reason they couldn't be written as distinct sentences. Is the expression *beyHom bey bey'a'* generalizable?

{wa' latlh jaj} or {latlh wa' jaj} ? If I think in greek/english I would say that the correct choice is the former, but if I think in klingon I would say that the correct choice is the latter. Since I'm not certain though, can someone shed some light on this matter ? mayqel qun'noS

Slightly I'm able to write klingon, although I often make mistakes. But my problem has always been that I'm unable to speak it. So, in order to overcome this problem, I came up with the idea to think in klingon. Initially, it was as if someone had tied a knot in my mind, and I couldn't think of a single word. But as time went by, I was able to think a few sentences, and now I'm steadily improving. Although the procedure is difficult, I'm certain that finally, I'll be able to speak normally klingon. If we want to say "I am there" we write {pa' jIHtaH}. But if we want to say "I am not there", what do we write ? {pa' jIHbe'} or {pa' jIHbe'taH} ? mayqel q

I'm forwarding this new word which was published by Qov on Facebook. She apologizes for not sending it here directly. The mailing list has blacklisted her ISP so she can't use it anymore. From Marc: - For tattoo, I got some new stuff from Maltz: {tutlh} "have a tattoo, be tattooed" (so {tutlhmoH} is "to tattoo"). The noun "tattoo" is {DIr tutlh}. If you have one pattern/design on your arm, say, that's an example of a {DIr tutlh}. I've thought of {tInchoH}, but I feel there's something missing, with regards to its ability to describe "to swell". For instance, if I want to say "a bug stung me and my hand swell", and I write {muchop ghew 'ej tInchoH ghopwIj}, I get the impression that there is "something missing". On the other hand, if I want to say "I saw lurSa' and tInchoH ngaghmeH nebwIj", then indeed the {tInchoH} is good. The {neb} being used metaphorically of course. So, I feel that the {tInchoH} lacks something, when we need to describe "to swell", as a result of a pathological process.. Perhaps I'm wrong though.. Can we place the topic marker {-'e'}, on the subject of a verb, which has a {-meH} attached to it ? Can we say: {sweat swell je DelmeH mu''e', Hutlh tlhIngan Hol} as for words in order to describe "sweat and swell", the klingon language lacks them Is the above grammatically correct ? mayqel qun'noS
