With *'ewrop DIvI' loch 'eSpanya', qaStaHvIS DIS 1986 lochchoHpu'* I tried to get the meaning of *since*. Is there another way to say it (*since a point in the past till now*)? 2. I was not sure if *loch* only works for mathematics and *yugh* only for chemistry. If it is so, how could I say *be a part / member of* and *consist of* in Klingon? 3. With *SepwIjvaD QaQqu' ghu'vam* I mean *this situation IS very good for my country*. But if I want to say that the fact of becoming a member of the European Union WAS very good for my country, would something like *QaQpu'qu' ngoDvam* work? I'm actually thinking of the Spanish form *fue* (perfective), which I would use here instead of *era* (imperfective), but I don't know if this works in Klingon similarly. Thank you!

"I have FEW friends" means that I do not have many. I'm not a native English speaker, so I don't know if I understand the difference correctly, but as a native Spanish speaker I wouldn't use "pocos" in both sentences. I would probably say something like: "La Sra. Spigzweiler se sentía decepcionada porque ALGUNOS / UNOS CUANTOS alumnos habían copiado." (similar to German "einige") "La Sra. Spigzweiler se sentía decepcionada porque (muy) POCOS alumnos habían aprobado." (similar to German "wenige")

I know that this must be a ridiculous thing to ask, at this point, after having written my brains out in Klingon, but this thing since it came to my mind is killing me. Who the jay' is the subject and object in an imperative??? I say to someone: yIQong! sleep! Who's the subject and who's the object? I say to the judges: yaS tIqIch! condemn the officers! If the subject are the judges, and the object the officers, then what am I? (i.e. the one who gives the command). It seems a ridiculous thing to ask, but it's driving me crazy. ~ Dana'an

My understanding is that "few" emphasizes the paucity of what there are, while "a few" emphasizes the fact that, hey, at least there are some. Consider the following cloze sentences: Which would you put in the first sentence and which would you put in the second sentence? 1. Mrs. Spiegzweiler was disappointed that {few, a few} of the students had cheated. 2. Mrs. Spiegzweiler was disappointed that {few, a few} of the students had passed the test. If you're a native English speaker, you put "a few" in the first sentence and "few" in the second. In Spanish, however, they're both *pocos*. How would those two sentences be rendered in tlhIngan Hol?
