These aren't new words, but I thought people might be interested in Maltz's suggestions on how existing words might be used. To my suggestion that the "random" button (which brings up a random entry) might be labeled {SuD}. --- begin quote --- Yes. Use {SuD}. --- end quote --- One of the features in {boQwI'} is qurgh's Klingon Word Of The Day, which schedules a download daily from the KAG server when the app is online. This led to the following three comments: --- begin quote --- For “feature,” is there any reason not to use {laH} “ability”? --- end quote --- --- begin quote --- When a computer (computer system) is “online,” it’s said to be “sharing,” so make use of {lIn}. (“Offline,” then, would make use of {lInHa’}.) --- end quote --- --- begin quote --- “Schedule” in this sense is the same as “plan,” so make use of {nab}. --- end quote --- There's actually just s slight bit more, but as it's an ongoing discussion the words aren't finalised so I'll hold off on the parts that Maltz are unsure about for now. (I agreed with Maltz that {laH} expresses what I wanted with "feature", which is why I thought it's okay to release it even though what he wrote was phrased as a question.) -- De'vID

New info on Qeb

Yesterday, someone posted on facebook new info on Qeb, info which he said he had received from 'oqranD. I'm writing this in order to inform those, who aren't on facebook. New canon should be posted here, for a number of reasons, than just "thrown" in a labyrinth of posts of a facebook group, where most of the people join not in order to actually learn, but just because "it's cool" to learn one or two klingon sentences. ~ nI'ghma

--- begin quote --- For purposes of boQwI’, “definition” would be {jIyweS} “translation, gloss.” It’s not a definition like in an English-only (or any-language-only) dictionary (that explains/describes a word’s meaning); it’s a quick tag to give you an idea of what the word means. For “entry,” Maltz suggests {ghu’lIS} “item in a list.” {pong} is okay for “name” in the sense you’re using it here. {pab buv} is good for “part of speech” --- end quote --- -- De'vID

As some of you know, I have been working on adding requested features to {boQwI'}. As you may also know, {boQwI'} has a Klingon-language user interface. Maltz has come to know of the project (I guess someone on the Federation Scientific Research Council mentioned it to him), and has offered some comments on the user interface text. Some of the info reveals new vocabulary, so I didn't want to keep them from the community. OTOH, I can't reveal the info without also revealing what features are in development for {boQwI'}, some of which I *did* want to keep secret, because I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up in case they didn't get completed. So, be warned that not everything mentioned in these messages is necessarily going to end up in {boQwI'} (or at least not necessarily any time soon). There's a lot of info, so I'm going to split things up into several messages. (I've already posted the info about sorting, in a reply to Lieven's message about {patlhmoH} being used in Star Trek: Discovery.) -- De'vID

iOS pIqaD keyboard

I know there’s already an iOS pIqaD keyboard (Klingon Swipekeys), but it’s $0.99 and I felt like a free one might encourage more people to use pIqaD on iOS, so I made one. It’s still a little rough around the edges, but none of my friends speak Klingon or read pIqaD, so I’m looking for people to help test it. If you have any interest in testing an iOS pIqaD keyboard, reach out to me off-list and I can send you an invite via the App Store’s TestFlight mechanism.
