Very interesting and insightful. Would {not} pass as a variation on the idea of a time stamp? It’s a sort of anti-time stamp, like a negative irrealis. There’s this other reality where I tell you to kneel, and the reality we are in is not that reality. When do you kneel? In english we say: "kneel!"/"never kneel!". If we are to translate the above in klingon, then the "kneel" obviously becomes "yItor", but what about the "never kneel!"? Perhaps I'm influnced by greek on this matter, but I need to ask, since this seems strange to me: If we say in klingon {not yItor} for "never kneel", is it correct? It's just that for some reason I can't seem to be able to describe, the {not}/{yI-} combination seems strange. And now that I'm thinking of this, could we say {reH yIHaD} for "always study!"? Again the adverb/imperative combination seems strange. ~ Dana'an

In english we say "the accused was sentenced by the court", and "the sentence was carried out". I was wondering how we could say these in the so-called warrior's tongue.. Suppose I wrote: yoj maqpu' bo'DIj the court proclaimed the judgement yoj turlu'ta' the judgement was carried out Would the above be appropriate? Or is there a better way of expressing the desired meanings? ~ Dana'an
