Regarding the title of Kahless the Unforgettable, which was translated as {qeylIS lIjlaHbogh pagh} in the paq'batlh and {qeylIS'e' lIjlaHbe'bogh vay'} in the SkyBox cards, Dr. Okrand had this to say: <Both are correct. The version in the *paq’batlh* is older. Traditionally, the phrase {lIjlaHbogh pagh} is applied to Kahless only, while the newer {lIjlaHbe’bogh vay’} may be applied to Kahless and other leaders/heroes as well. It would be a sign of extreme arrogance or disrespect to use the {…pagh} version for anyone other than Kahless.> -- De'vID

Suppose I write: < Duv > jatlhpu' 'e' DaSov you know that he said "advance" Since there's no rule prohibiting placing a quotation before the {'e'} of a sao (as long as the verb after the {'e'} isn't a verb of speech), seemingly/apparently this sentence would be correct. In German there is only the form *es gibt* for *there is / are*. It's a fixed structure, where *es* is a 3rd person singular subject (but with no semantic meaning here) and therefore the verb always remains singular (*gibt*). It takes an accusative object: *Es gibt einen neuen Film* (*There is a new movie*) *Es gibt zwei neue Filme* (*There are two new movies*) There are no contractions of verb forms like in English. By the way, in Spanish there is also only one form (*hay*) for singular or plural.

This message is addressing all those who enjoy keeping records and archives correctly arranged. I just noticed these three words {ghojmeH taj} {nuH bey'} {SoS taj} Which I have listed as source "HolQeD v10n1, p. 20" While checking for this, I noticed that there is no page 20 in that issue, and the words do not appear there at all. I know they came from the KCD, but were they published anywhere else officially, being HolQeD or newsgroup or anything? Thanks for any comments. -- Lieven L.
