We write: {romuluSngan HoS law' qarDaSngan HoS puS jay'} The first question is "can we place the {jay'} on a law' puS construction ?". In the case it is something we can do, one could start to wonder.. Does the construction above mean "the #!@! romulan is stronger than the cardassian", or does it mean "the romulan is stronger than the #!@! cardassian" ? Or does it mean "the romulan is #!@! stronger than the cardassian" ? Or is it that we can't apply the "#!@!" to only one part of the comparative construction, or any kind of sentence ? The way I understand the {jay'}, is that we can't apply it to only one element of a sentence, because it's job is to actually turn the entirety of sentence to an invective. In greek/english we can place the f*** on only one word of a sentence, but the way I understand the {jay'} we can't do something similar in klingon. But I'm asking just to make certain my understanding is correct. On the other hand though, perhaps for reasons I don't know, we can't use the {jay'} on a law' puS construction, and this whole post is wrong from the start. ~ Qa'yIn

The suffix {-lu'} is defined as "someone or something unspecified". In english the words "someone" and "something" are singular. Or at least I think they are.. So, does this mean that whenever we use the {-lu'} it actually means that the unspecified subject is singular too ? Example: 'Impey' qach lumutlhlu'pu' Does this mean "someone (singular) constructed the pyramids" e.g. a pharaoh ? Or can it mean too "someone(s) (plural) constructed the pyramids" e.g. the egyptians ? ~ Qa'yIn

(Minor spoiler from trailer) The trailer for the upcoming animated Star Trek series is at https://youtu.be/V3RkBKedKWw and in it there's a shot of (what looks to me like) a Federation base on a planet, with a Klingon archway with Klingon trefoil and pIqaD that reads {Qo'noSHom}. I'm assuming this depicts the entrance to a Klingon neighborhood, with the translation akin to "Little Italy" or "Chinatown". Looks like this series may be going the Discovery route of getting the tlhIngan Hol right, and not relying on Bing! -taD
