Pluralizing Pokémon

After considering everything you've written, Felix, I'm now leaning towards po'qeymonpu'. If Meowth can learn a human language, Pokémon are clearly capable of speech. I had never seen the manga with the Kangaskhan-speaking boy before -- interesting! I suppose anthropomorphic characters who speak in a human language (or "Common") should be -pu'. Recently, I've been going through my notes.. And all of a sudden, qeylIS brought to my attention something I'd totally forgotten, which now I'll share, in case others have forgotten it too. On Sat, Jul 29, 2017, qurgh started the thread with the title: "qep'a' cha'maH loSDIch New words and some tidbits". In that thread, on Sun, Jul 30, 2017, RE Andeen wrote: *********** Another random tidbit. I was talking with Marc about something or other, and somebody nearby said “it’s the little things...” Marc said he would say <<DochHommey>> for that in Klingon. This is an interesting matter indeed. And something which had never crossed my mind.. The way I understood {rIntaH} so far, was that falling in the category of verb suffixes (or at least a kind of), then it *should* follow immediately after the verb. Of course, I now realize that it is an unresolved area of grammar, and perhaps, until we get a ruling from maltz, perhaps it comes down to personal preference. Speaking of which.. Personally, I'd prefer placing it right after the noun, because it *feels* more direct, and the meaning of the sentence becomes immediately clearer, especially in cases where we don't have a "simple" subject, but a more "complex" one, as for instance noun-noun constructions, {-meH}ed nouns, {-bogh}ed nouns, or even an entire {-bogh} phrase with it's own subject and object. Now, one could perhaps argue that klingons wouldn't use "complex" subjects.. But it'd be better if we refrained from such analyses, since doing so can result in romulan abductions, interrogations, agony, etc.. And as daffy duck says: 'oy' vISIQlaHbe'; 'oy' ! Pluralizing Pokémon

Something that went through my mind tonight. Would the plural of "po'qeymon" be "po'qeymonmey" or "po'qeymonpu'"? I could see a -pu' plural because Pokémon each speak in their own language. It's not a language shared with any sapients, but Pokémon do speak languages. However, all Pokémon can say is their own names. And as far as I know, no human has ever spoken to a Pokémon in its language. So maybe the plural takes -mey. What are your thoughts?

Half a year till the qep'a' cha'maH SochDIch

We're now half a year away from 2020's qep'a' -- halfway between the last one and the next one. I see seven people (both loDpu' and be'pu') have registered already. We have 203 words listed in the chabal tetlh, 139 of which have a non-negative score, 134 of which have a score of at least 1, 122 of which have a score of at least 4, 104 of which have a score of at least 10, and 57 of which have a score of at least 20. However, a few of these are words like "England" and "fossil" that have already been coined before the 2020 qep'a'. We have lots of great word nominations this year -- furniture, blink, protein, lens, zinc, oval, blackmail, qubit, and more. Even the inherently funny word "spleen" looks like it's going to make it. burnI' SanDas recently saud he made lots of lonely votes, but is "lonely no more". I've been a lonely lapwI' in my own way. I was the only person voting +1 on "tear", and more recently have been one of the few people voting +1 on "extinguish" and "marijuana". Maybe at the 2020 qep'a' we can have ghaw' or pIpyuS pach instead of pItSa' chab! Any takers?
