question words in noun-noun constructions
Could we use question words in noun-noun constructions as in the following examples? Qob nuH nuq je the weapon and what is dangerous? SuSol tlhIH 'Iv je you quarrel you and who? maHIv maH 'Iv je we attack we and who? I can't see something grammatically wrong with the above, but the thing which leads me to ask is that I can't find a "fluid" English translation for these examples, so this makes me wonder whether there's something I'm missing here. -- Dana'an https://sacredtextsinklingon.wordpress.com/ Ζεὺς ἦν, Ζεὺς ἐστίν, Ζεὺς ἔσσεται· ὦ μεγάλε Ζεῦ

These are not noun-noun constructions. These are noun conjunctions.

There doesn't need to be a fluid translation for it to be correct. I see nothing wrong with these. Fluid translations would be: What is dangerous along with the weapon? Who quarrels with you? Whom do we attack with? -- SuStel http://trimboli.name

This reminds me of a common trope, the defiant phrase "You and what army?" {tuHIv SoH 'Iv je?}, literally, "You and who will attack me?" https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YouAndWhatArmy -- De'vID
I think you just accidentally gave an example of an actual noun-noun construction as your title sought and missed the first time. The quote, as I always heard it was, “You and whose army?” It’s usually a response to a threat, like “I’m goin’ to whup yer @ss!” So, the wording would be something like {tujey SoH, ‘Iv manghom je?} I don’t see a problem with it. “Whose army and you will defeat me?” [because there’s no way you’ll do it on your own...] It’s a question. It walks like a question. It talks like a question. And the answer is a statement with a proper name plopped in to replace the question word, just like a normal Klingon question. pItlh charghwI’ ‘utlh (ghaH, ghaH, -Daj)

As a side-note, literally trying to translate “You and what army”, or more properly “You and which army” can’t be done directly, since there is no Klingon question word for “which”, and {nuq} only works as a noun, not an adjective in Klingon. pItlh charghwI’ ‘utlh (ghaH, ghaH, -Daj)
