I wrote my summary and anylysis into the Klingon Language Wiki. I'd love to hear comments and corrections: http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/AirAndSpaceInterview -- Lieven L. Litaer aka Quvar valer 'utlh Grammarian of the KLI http://www.facebook.com/Klingonteacher
It’s got what appears to be new canon, though no new information. -- SuStel http://trimboli.name From: Michael Roney, Jr.

Well, not necessarily "new", but I observed some interesting to know constructions, as they are canon: 1. I don't know, but have we heared the canon translation for ST3 yet? {Hov leng wej: Spock nejlu'} it is. 2. {vulqan Hol jatlhlaHmeH Mr. Spock, vIghojmoHta'} is a nice recast for "I have tought Mr. Spock to speak Vulcan." I think some people would have struggled to translate that or at least wondered how to say. 3. {pIj tay'taH Doch pIm}, the translation for "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations" literally says "different things are often continuously together". I think this is even worth an entry in a dictionary. 4. Although not a word on its own - any maybe just a desription - here is a translation for the universal translator: {Hoch Holmey mughwI'} literally: "all languages translator". I know, nothing really new, but most of us are happy for any bit of canon examples. -- Lieven L. Also noteworthy, there is no attempt to transliterate Spock, as there was with {qIrq}. I expect there never will be. ~mIp'av
I don’t know why he didn’t: * {Supaq} or even * {SIpaq} work. The real problem for Okrand may well have been how to render “Mister” – a general title used when addressing officers other than the ship’s Captain. {joH}, {qaH} and {yaS} don’t quite work. -- Voragh From: tlhIngan-Hol [mailto:tlhingan-hol-bounces@lists.kli.org] On Behalf Of Ed Bailey Sent: Monday, August 29, 2016 12:07 PM On Mon, Aug 29, 2016 at 2:47 AM, Lieven <levinius@gmx.de<mailto:levinius@gmx.de>> wrote: 1. Based on the Kolinahr scene from TMP, I think *Supoq* or perhaps even *SupoQ* would have been a good way to go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bblpxiyqQ1M By the way, the article suggests that there's an accompanying video, but I can't see it on any device. Can anybody else see it? Wondering if it might be region blocked. ________________________________ From: tlhIngan-Hol <tlhingan-hol-bounces@lists.kli.org> on behalf of Steven Boozer <sboozer@uchicago.edu> Sent: Monday, August 29, 2016 22:52 To: tlhingan-hol@kli.org Subject: Re: [tlhIngan Hol] Air & Space Magazine I don't know why he didn't: * {Supaq} or even * {SIpaq} work. It's not region blocked (or at least I can see it from Switzerland), it's just served by badly written javascript and works only one some OS/browser combinations. Here's the direct link, can you see it here? http://www.airspacemag.com/videos/alien-accent/ -- De'vID
I also couldn't see it on the article, and the playback on the direct link was very choppy, but I enjoyed it anyway :-) -QISta' On Tue, Aug 30, 2016 at 1:04 AM, De'vID <de.vid.jonpin@gmail.com> wrote:

It played fine for me. No buffering, not choppy, no problems. I am using Firefox (45.2) in Debian GNU/Linux (8.3). South-east US, 6MB DSL - DloraH On Tue, 2016-08-30 at 01:46 -0600, Christa Hansberry wrote:
