Klingon Word of the Day for Tuesday, November 26, 2019 Klingon word: vI'Hop Part of speech: noun Definition: indirect object Source: qep'a' 26 [2019] _______________________________________________ AFAIK never used in a sentence. SEE: 'ovmay direct object (n) (qep'a' 2019) SeSor subject (n) (qep'a' 2019) Anyone see a pun in these new grammar words? The only one I can work out is, maybe, {vI'} "sharpshooting, marksmanship, aim" + {Hop} "be remote, far" -- far/remote aim, i.e. beyond the direct object?? Before the qep'a', {DoS} "target" was occasionally used, faute de mieux, for this here on the Mailing List. {vI'} can also mean "decimal point", so it could be a pun on "Farpoint". I don't know what "Encounter at Farpoint" has to do with indirect objects, though.
