I recently added support for these languages into {boQwI'} (in addition to English and German), and need volunteers to add definitions and/or review them. Daniel Dadap (De'nIl) has created a tool for reviewing the definitions in each language here: https://dadap.github.io/qawHaq-vIgher/yIgher.html Contributions to the data can be made through GitHub here: https://github.com/De7vID/klingon-assistant-data Of course, you're also welcome to review the English and German definitions. Also, the Chinese definitions are in Hong Kong (traditional) Chinese because it's what I know, but I'll take contributions in simplified Chinese or Taiwanese (traditional) Chinese too. (I'll sort out the script and vocabulary differences.) p.s. Oh, and since a couple of people have replied to me with "I know language X, but don't know Klingon well enough", the point is you don't have to know Klingon that well. You need to be able to translate from English to X, and you'll learn the Klingon for X at the same time. Reading through the entire vocabulary list is a good way to get a feel for what's in the language, and this is your opportunity to do it. -- De'vID

There's a major difference in this project: The English glosses do not have an entry for "aloha" (or "hello"). When translating a language, there will certainly remain some ambiguous translations, but these are very rare, and boQwI' has lots of explanations to distinguish those. -- Lieven L. We shouldn't let the perfect become the enemy of the good, or, to quote the Klingon Bard, "Striving to better, oft we mar what’s well." First, most users won't see these four languages (you need to activate "beta testing" mode in the app to see them). Second, most of the vocabulary is fairly conventional and for the most part unambiguous (e.g., {HIvje'}, {paq}, {Duj}, {qIp}, {Sov}, {jatlh}, ...). I'd much rather get those filled in by people who have the skill to do so than wait around for people who are both knowledgeable about the nuances in Klingons and experts in the target language. Also, this is a reason for more volunteers, not fewer: so they can review each other's work. -- De'vID

I was going to say the same. Nearly 99 % of vocabulary is very clear and causes no problems. And even those who were ambiguous in the past years have been solved, so there is very small risk for bad translations. The only thing that will happen is when language X has two words for one english word, and then we will have to ask Maltz. But that's no new problem, and still very rare as said before. By the way: The perfect thing with this project is that having more languages it will get easier to compare, and more languages can be added. For instance, when in doubt, the translator can still check what other languages did with a word. I definitely support this project! majQa'. -- Lieven L. A couple of people have said that they would be willing to contribute, but they don't know how to use GitHub. In the latest Android version of {boQwI'}, you can submit translations and corrections directly from within the app. (You have to enable this in the options menu.) Now you have no excuse. If you know one of the above languages, and you use {boQwI'}, and you see an entry which is missing the definition in your language, you can just type it in right there in the app! Qapla'! -- De'vID
