A few days ago, Star Trek Discovery Designer Tamara Deverell has shared some drawings of the Klingon game tISang and also for the used currency. So if anyone needs a new task for their 3D-printer, here we go. https://twitter.com/OntarioDGC/status/1093994981168160768 Few information on the words can be found in the Wiki, but that needs some more input: http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/TISang -- Lieven L. Litaer aka the "Klingon Teacher from Germany" http://www.klingonisch.de
Note that these pictures appear to have come before anybody (presumably Qov, or perhaps ghunchu'wI') had a chance to correct it; the artist appears to have attempted to get the language right, but presumably it wasn't a priority for the concept art. There is one correct phrase on the DarSeq coins (which had presumably already been translated for an earlier episode): DaH Suto'vo'qor vIjaH 'ach 'opleS jIchegh 'e' vIlay' as well as many words that make sense, but then there are some phrases like *Qo' juS* nad *ratlh tlhIngan* that suggest Bingon / word-by-word translation. So, if anybody's planning to make replicas, they may want to see how they ended up in the actual episode. The game was apparently originally named *tS'ang* or *t'Sang*, and named after graphic designed Andy Tsang. https://twitter.com/startrekchina/status/1094403016189505536 Presumably, they asked Qov/ghunchu'wI' if that worked, and were told that {tISang} fit the syllable structure better and also meant something in Klingon. //loghaD ________________________________________ From: tlhIngan-Hol <tlhingan-hol-bounces@lists.kli.org> on behalf of Lieven L. Nothing wrong with *ratlh tlhIngan* as long as what you’re trying to say is “A Klingon remains.” :)
The game was apparently originally named *tS'ang* or *t'Sang*, and named after graphic designed Andy Tsang.
Why not both? tS'ang is attested in the pIqaD in the header of the image, and the tweet you linked calls it T'Sang, with a capital T of course. Is it too much to hope that one of these days we may end up seeing ' used reasonably by non-Klingon speakers making up Klingon words and names?

Alhough is seems very obvious... Is that for sure? Who said that? The published drawings says "designer TD" (=Tamara Deverell) and "drawn by AT" (=Andy Tsang). Another drawing of the game board also says "designer TD" but "drawn by LW", a different name. I episode 1.15, Tyler says "The game is called t'Sang. Translates to obliterate them." This spelling is from the closed captions; That's also the way it was written in the script. -- Lieven L. Yes, and fortunately that had been changed for the show to *vang* and *vangbe'*

Yes, indeed. I'm working on making an exact template which can be used for replicas.

Yes, it was. Andy Tsang confirmed that for me. See summaries at the Wiki: http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/TISang -- Lieven L. Litaer aka the "Klingon Teacher from Germany" http://www.klingonisch.de http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/StarTrekDiscovery

If you have access to the screen-used art for the coins, would you be able to also ask for the screen-used art for the game board (and any pieces, etc.) and (if they exist of course) playable rules as well?

I don't have more or less access than anyone else has. Those images were found on twitter, and everyone is free to ask the producers for the rules. I have no special access, and if I had, I wouldn't be allowed to share the information. -- Lieven L. My mistake. When you said you were making an exact template and that you had confirmed the detail about the name being named after Tsang with Tsang himself, I interpolated additional nonexistent details that you were making a template based on the on-screen depiction, rather than the one from the already published concept art screenshots, and that perhaps you got them from Tsang.
