boQwI' {qav} vs klingon.wiki {qav}
boQwI' entry on the {qav'ap}: "It's not clear what ?qav (v) means by itself, but it's possible that this was shortened from qavmeH 'ap (n) or something like that at some point in the past". klingon.wiki entry on {qav} (n) from the page http://klingon.wiki/En/NewWordsQepHom2020: "Maltz didn't know what qav by itself was, but he said he wouldn't be surprised to learn that qav'ap was shortened from qavmeH 'ap or something like that at some point in the past". In boQwI' the {qav} is listed as a verb, but in klingon.wiki it's classified as a noun. I'd go with the boQwI' version since the {-meH}'ed clause it's associated with, but what the jay', I thought I should verify anyways. ~ Dana'an

From what I can understand, neither is correct. *qav* is not known to be a word, so it should not have a separate entry in any word list or a listed part of speech. -- SuStel http://trimboli.name

That's good you verify this. It's obviously a simple typo in the Wiki; and as you say, derived from the -meH'ed example, it clearly is a verb. If you discover such obvious mistakes, you may always log in the wiki and make corrections. That's what it's made for. -- Lieven L. {'ap} was defined at qepHom 2020 as: 'ap n. dues, toll and three more noun phrases based on it were revealed: HIjmeH 'ap n. fee paid when bringing certain commodities into a jurisdiction HIjmeH 'ap pIn n. customs officer HuqmeH 'ap n. excise tax, sales tax, VAT Which explains Maltz's suggestion about {qavmeH 'ap}. -- Voragh, Ca'Non Master of the Klingons ------------------------------Original Message------------------------------ From: mayqel qunen'oS klingon.wiki entry on {qav} (n) from the page http://klingon.wiki/En/NewWordsQepHom2020: "Maltz didn't know what qav by itself was, but he said he wouldn't be surprised to learn that qav'ap was shortened from qavmeH 'ap or something like that at some point in the past".
