If you’re trying to say that you draw a letter on the screen, you didn’t quite get that idea expressed clearly. {yay} refers to the *sound* represented by the {y} symbol. I would have understood {<y> vIwev} or {yay ngutlh vIwev} without difficulty.
{yay} is a new noun meaning something like "scribble, doodle". It's the result when you {wev} something that's not easily identifiable.
