There is a famous castle called Himeji-jo(Himeji castle) in Japan, perhaps this is relevant. But does Okrand likes(knows) Japanese culture or history? It's difficult to imagine... chaDQI'
Himeji-jo is one of the most famous castles in the world. I'm sure Dr. Okrand has heard of it and it is very likely the inspiration for the new word. ________________________________ From: tlhIngan-Hol <tlhingan-hol-bounces@lists.kli.org> on behalf of 塚田 功 <qapla@orange.zero.jp> Sent: Wednesday, January 3, 2018 6:01:51 PM To: tlhingan-hol@lists.kli.org Subject: Re: [tlhIngan Hol] Maltz about castles

Yep, I think you're onto a winner with this one. Not (Julius) Caesar's palace specifically, but the Palatine Hill (one of the seven hills of Rome), on which Augustus and a number of other Roman Emperors had their primary residence and from which we get the English word "palace". QeS 'utlh
