I'm not sure how exact you need this word, but we do have {watrIn} "lubricant" and {nIn} "fuel", which both touch the meaning of oil.
Before we had {watrIn}, Okrand suggested to use {QuQ HuH} in my translation of the Little Prince.

I think {nIn} by itself would probably suffice in many contexts, if you're already talking about cars and trucks and so on. Just don't call it {SIp}, as people in some countries on Earth apparently do. -- De'vID

That might what it's called in Latin, but I would not get that when I read it. {nagh nIn} is just like "Rock fuel" and sounds like either fuel to fire rocks, or fuel made of rocks. Perhaps a better approach is from a technical point of view, saying {nIn tlhol} "unprocessed fuel". -- Lieven L. Yes, I agree 100%. There's no way the reader could ever make the association between {nagh nIn} and "petroleum". It's like me writing {chulbejghach jupwI'} and expecting the reader to understand "philosophy", just because the greek word "philosophy" literally means "friend of wisdom". ~ Dana'an
