"Eso es un gato" (That is a cat) vs. "El gato está en la casa" (The cat is in the house) But if I were to ask "Where is the cat?" in Klingon, I'd say "nuqDaq 'oH(taH?) vIghro''e'?", rather than "nuqDaq SaH vIghro'?" No, not quite the same. In Spanish, 'ser' is used to describe a fact or a quality, while 'estar' is used for being at a place. In Klingon, pronouns can be used for both, and the added suffix may show the state of the ongoing process. briefly, jIH and jIHtaH can both be translated with ser and estar. {tlhIngan jIH} "I am a Klingon" "Soy Klingon." {tlhIngan jIHtaH} "I am continusously a Klingon" "Soy Klingon." {pa'Daq jIH} "I am in the room."
