My personal dictionary has, for some reason, two entries for *'otlhQeD.* One glosses it as /quantum mechanics, quantum theory/ and gives its origin as qepHom 2014, the other glosses it as /quantum physics/ and gives its origin as qepHom 2015. Can someone tell me whether I've got this right? My email archives only find the word *'otlhQeD* in a message by De'vID on November 16, 2014, wherein he gives the /quantum mechanics, quantum theory/ meaning. I have no saved images from qepHom 2015. -- SuStel http://trimboli.name

What I have is also confusing: 'otlhQeD quantum mechanics, quantum theory (n) [qepHom 2014 & 2015] 'otlhtej (someone who studies quantum mechanics) (n) [qepHom 2014 & 2015 p.13] --Voragh From: tlhIngan-Hol [mailto:tlhingan-hol-bounces@lists.kli.org] On Behalf Of SuStel On 6/22/2018 1:16 PM, SuStel wrote: My personal dictionary has, for some reason, two entries for 'otlhQeD. I have an email from Lieven on 10/29/15: Maltz is not a chemist, and he said he's a bit overwhelmed by the periodic
table. But I'll try to coax a few more elements out of him.
’otlh poH Planck time ’otlhQeD quantum physics ’otlhtej quantum physicist julSIp helium ghav carbon no’negh sulfur ’uSqan iron (element) Sorpuq copper SIrlIy silver qol’om gold ngIDvoS lead (element) HeySel atom ’o’rIS molecule tamler element (in chemistry)

But it appears to have fallen out of the archives, along with everything between late October 2015 and June 2016. De'vID has an earlier post: https://www.kli.org/tlhIngan-Hol/2014/November/msg00074.html
Besides what Lieven posted, there were also a few other things scattered about in the booklet.
{pe'vIl Supaw'jaj!} A Klingon greeting apparently for welcoming a group to an event.

Example: {qatlh Suvbe' chaH?} "Why aren't they fighting?" {wa'maH wej.} "It's complicated." (idiom based on the old counting system)

{'otlhQeD} quantum mechanics, quantum theory {'otlhtej} (the corresponding scientist, someone who studies quantum mechanics)

That's because it was revealed twice. In 2014, it was defined as "quantum mechanics, quantum theory", and {'otlhtej} was also glossed as "the corresponding scientist, someone who studies quantum mechanics" (which, admittedly, can't be used as an independent definition). In 2015, in a list of words related to chemistry (on p. 13 of the qepHom booklet), it was defined again as "quantum physics" and {'otlhtej} was defined as "quantum physicist". The two definitions don't contradict each other. The KLI new words list should be corrected. Here's a photo proving it was revealed in 2014: https://www.instagram.com/p/ulNOIKphJt/ (Also: What? Yes, that's right: The word {'otlhQeD} was mentioned by Okrand in an interview of 2014 (printed in the qepHom 2014 book) as "quantum theory / quantum mechanics" and then it appeared in a word list in 2015 as "quantum physics".

That was few days after the qepHom 2014. ja' De'vID:

I’m guessing this is a reference to the {'otlhQeD} label being superimposed onto the book.
I'm talking about the fact that the year is a superposition of 2014 and 2015, and you don't which one it is until you measure it by looking. -- De'vID
