AFAIK the only comment Okrand has made is about plurality: (MO to qurgh, 7/23/2018): As for {gher'ID} — All of the English words could be singular or plural, whichever makes the most sense given the context. If, in Klingon, it's important to indicate plurality, use {-mey}; if it's important to indicate singularity, use {wa'} along with {neH} (or something along those lines). -- Voragh ___________________________________________________________________________ From: SuStel On 7/15/2021 9:12 AM, mayqel qunen'oS wrote: {gher'ID} (n) "results, outcome, effect, repercussions, consequence, ramification". The words "results/outcome/effect" -the way I understand them- are neutral; i.e. we can have a positive or negative result, a positive or negative outcome, a positive or negative effect. But googling repercussion/ramification I found: - repercussion: "an unintended consequence of an event or action, especially an unwelcome one". - ramification: "a complex or unwelcome consequence of an action or event". So, when it comes to the klingon noun {gher'ID} do we use it for results/outcomes/effects which are good, which are bad, or can we use it for both? The complete gloss gives no indication that gher'ID has a negative connotation. I would try to avoid assuming that connotations of the English gloss are also connotations of the Klingon word, unless there were some reason to think so.
