Klingon word: Hoqra' Part of speech: noun Definition: tricorder
AFAIK never used in canon.
Klingon tricorders were seen and used by Kruge's landing party in ST3.
The name tricorder refers to "a triple sensor-recorder-analyzer function" (ghunchu'wI').
PUN: The GTE Expedition Trike is a well-known brand of adult racing tricycle made by Greenspeed USA.
Are these truly "well-known", and did they even exist at the time of TKD's publication? And does Okrand own one? {Hoq} "expedition" (= "trek) + {ra'} "order" > "trek-order" > "tricorder" is another possible derivation. -- De'vID
