Disclaimer ahead: I'm not saying that this is correct, and I have no
proof for reference.

Basically, numbers "can" act as nouns, so you should be able to do that.
"I want these two" - {cha'vam vIneH}

To me this is clearly {cha' DISvam} because it is "these [two years]"
and not "[these two] years".
