Klingon Word of the Day for Saturday, November 18, 2017 Klingon word: yut Part of speech: verb Definition: distract, create a diversion Source: November 2016 email to Lieven This Klingon Word of the Day is brought to you by qurgh (qurgh@kli.org).
Klingon word: yut Part of speech: verb Definition: distract, create a diversion Source: November 2016 email to Lieven _______________________________________________ AFAIK it's never been used. (Lieven, has {yut} appeared in Discovery yet?) (Lieven, 11/25/2016): The object of this verb, when there is an object, is the person or group of people (usually) being distracted. See also the new verb {ngel} "lure, attract" used in DSC "Into the Forest I Go": pa'vovo' chaH DIngelmeH, 'oH wIlo'. We use it as bait, to draw their flagship away from Pahvo. -- Voragh Ca'Non Master of the Klingons

I've used it in the subtitles twice in ep. 1.04, but I don't count that as being IN Discovery.

Note that this was also as a subtitle, not spoken by the Klingons. I think you shouldn't use my subtitles as examples. When people argue thatDiscovery's Klingon is not okrandian canon, then my subtitles are definitely secondary. -- Lieven L. Understood. For the moment your subtitles or Qov's captions are the only indication of how all the new vocabulary is used -- at least until Okrand uses or comments on it himself. Perhaps we could use the abbreviation DSCsub vs. DSC to distinguish your work from Qov's. DSC/Qov and DSC/LL would also work. (I thought about DSC/ST, but virtually everything from Star Trek is abbreviated "ST!") And while we're on the topic... Thanks so much for taking the time to post your subtitles, the new vocabulary, and the transcriptions of your discussions with Okrand, etc. I know how much work it is and it's MUCH appreciated. -- Voragh Ca'Non Master of the Klingons -----Original Message----- From: tlhIngan-Hol [mailto:tlhingan-hol-bounces@lists.kli.org] On Behalf Of Lieven Am 20.11.2017 um 15:27 schrieb Steven Boozer:
