Klingon Word of the Day for Sunday, February 20, 2022 Klingon word: may' Sut Part of speech: noun Definition: body armor ("battle clothing") Source: qepHom 2015 p.14 _______________________________________________ (qepHom 2015 p.14): Maltz just said {SIryoD} is "body armor". He said he thought about other words too, he mentioned {may’ Sut}, but he liked that {SIryoD} better. He said {SIryoD} is an old word. (KGT 57): A warrior's full set of armor, including weapons and clothing, is his {may'luch} (literally, "battle gear"). Traditional clothing worn in battle, known as {Hip}, the word currently used to mean uniform, had both a protective function and a more utilitarian one, since it was from the clothing that weapons ({nuHmey}) or ammunition ({nIch}) could be hung. (ghunchu'wI', 8/21/11 < 'u'-OPERA): [{yIr} "gather (something)"] was used in a command for a warrior to gather his armor and weapons before a battle. -- Voragh, Ca'Non Master of the Klingons Please contribute relevant vocabulary or notes from the last year or two.
