I'm updating my personal dictionary and touching up the section for idioms, which I never gave the attention it needed. I'm wondering if I've got them all. There are all the idioms in KGT, then there are the following from newsgroup posts/HolQeD articles: 'arlogh Qoylu'pu' pumDI' tIngvo' 'evDaq chanDaq Are there any other known idioms I missed? -- SuStel http://trimboli.name
There's also {qabDu' law'} for "many people". And {wa'maH wej} or {wa' wa' wa'} for "It's complicated", which is slang. I'm sure there are more... - André 2017-05-05 17:46 GMT+02:00 SuStel <sustel@trimboli.name>:

Apparently {wa' wa' wa'} and {wa'maH wej} were from the qepHom 2014. The boQwI' app has some more information on it, including the source. - André 2017-05-05 18:12 GMT+02:00 SuStel <sustel@trimboli.name>:

boQwI' lists {notlh tonSaw'lIj} as an idiom/expression for "your argument is invalid", sourced from qep'a' 2012, posted to the mailing list 09/01/2012. {'oy'qu' Qay'wI'wIj} is "I'm very angry", from the finger/toe verbs update. {'IDnar lIl} is an idiom for performing stage magic. I'm not confident that this is an idiom. It seems quite literal. -- SuStel http://trimboli.name

It's idiomatic in the sense that one doesn't say *{'IDnar much} "present magic/wizardry" which could imply actual sorcery (e.g. Harry Potter). For those who missed it: (Lieven, 11/25/2016): The most common way to refer to a [stage] magician, like Kalibo, is {mIn yuqwI'} ({yuq} is "outwit, outsmart"). Another expression for magician is {'IDnar lIlwI'} <...> {lIl} is a verb meaning something like "simulate, impersonate". The idea is one of doing something such that the subject of the verb looks or behaves like something (or someone) else or represents something (or someone) else. The word has no connotation of fraud or anything underhanded (in this respect, it's like {ghet} ["pretend"]). The object is the thing being simulated or the person being impersonated. <...> "perform magic" (as Kalibo does) is {mIn yuq} or {'IDnar lIl}. -- Voragh tlhIngan ghantoH pIn'a' Ca'Non Master of the Klingons
