Klingon word: yuch Part of speech: noun Definition: chocolate
nuqDaq yuch Dapol Where do you keep the chocolate? TKD (KGT 85f.): Klingon food also frequently tastes {wIb} (sour, bitter) or {na'} (salty, brackish). The closest equivalent to "sweet" is probably {na'ran rur} ("resembles a *naran*", a fruit whose juice is sometimes added to sauces as a contrast to the other flavors) ... Despite the general absence of sweet foods from their diet, Klingons tend to be quite enthusiastic about {yuch} (chocolate), at least in its purest forms. (MO via Lieven, 12/07/2010): A {ngogh} is a block or lump or brick. [Maltz] said he's seen humans eating {yuch ngoghmey} and found that strange. I'm not sure what form he'd prefer his {yuch} to be. (ghunchu'wI', 7/29/08): [qep'a' 2008] At Dr. Okrand also offhandedly volunteered that it was "kind of like butterscotch", using a half-shrug and a hand gesture that I associate with uncertainty. I don't believe there would be anything wrong with referring to Terran chocolate pudding as {yuch wIlpuq}. PUN: "Yuck"?
