why aren't there any blood-sucking insects on Qo'noS ?
Every summer, the same thought crosses my mind.. It's strange maltz hasn't ever talked (as far as I know) about any kind of blood-sucking kronos insects. I'd expect there to be mosquitos being able to suck you dry in a single sip. ~ Qa'yIn

I like a lot the {-na'} on the {Hoch}. I've never considered the possibility of using suffixes on the {Hoch} of noun-noun constructions. It's a wonderful idea !
From now on, I'm gonna be suffixing {Hoch} like there's no tomorrow..

The problem with {ghIlab ghewmey} is that they don't sting, let alone suck blood.
I'd expect to find on Qo'noS some kind of vicious mosquitos, with an insatiable blood-thirst.

At first I didn't understand your confusion, but after quite some time I understood what's happening. In english you say "mosquito bite", but in greek we say "mosquito sting". Reading that ghIlab ghewmey don't sting, immediately made my mind make the assumption that "no sting = no blood sucking". But even so, aren't ghIlab ghewmey supposed to be harmless ? How could one use them to express a mosquito-like insect ? ~ Qa'yIn
