It's hard to believe that they could have filmed a lot of correct Klingon dialogue without involving someone known to the community. I believe Marc Okrand has said he isn't involved (but don't remember the source). Does anyone know if Britton Watkins is? I suppose that anyone from the community who *is* involved isn't allowed to talk about it... -- De'vID

Add to this the quote "There is someone policing this all the time... we've gone to great lengths to be incredibly accurate in our Klingon." (source: http://trekmovie.com/2017/07/22/sdcc17-star-trek-discovery-panel-gives-new-c...)

That's true indeed. We'll probably have to wait until September 24th, afer that, I guess everyone is allowed to talk. -- Lieven L. Litaer aka Quvar valer 'utlh Grammarian of the KLI http://www.facebook.com/Klingonteacher http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/StarTrekDiscovery

Qov vIyu'qu' jay' 'ach QI' pegh 'angQo'bej. There's also this: <And on the comic book front, IDW revealed the cover of the first Discovery comic book, written by Kirsten Beyer and Mike Johnson. The debut mini-series features the story of T’Kuvma and the Klingons under his command. > IDW has previously done a Klingon language edition of a comic book. I wonder if there are plans to do the same for the Discovery comic book. If there isn't already, can the KLI "suggest" it to them? -- De'vID

This is fantastic. Though Qov was missed at qep'a' last week, I can absolutely imagine how hard it would have been not to say anything about it. -- ghunchu'wI'
majQa', Qov! N.B. " the show’s Klingon expert, and Rea Nolan, the show's linguist " This is very encouraging: they have a Klingonist AND a linguist (presumably for other alien languages) on staff. --Voragh -----Original Message----- From: De'vID Sent: Thursday, August 3, 2017 2:16 AM On 24 July 2017 at 12:11, Lieven <levinius@gmx.de> wrote:

I wasn't there, but I can add some details: Rea Nolan has twittered that she had been working with the Klingon actors, but added that she's the dialect person, not grammar. On her website, she shows her job of dialect coach. So my guess would be that Qov worked on the grammar, observed the cutting etc, and maybe Nolan tought the Klingons to "sound like a Klingon", while speaking it. Qov will know better of course :-) Also see the Wiki on this: http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/StarTrekDiscovery -- Lieven L. Litaer aka Quvar valer 'utlh http://www.facebook.com/Klingonteacher

For those who enjoy speculating: there is this voice coach named Rea Nolan, who mentioned to be working with the Klingon actors of Discovery. But she immediately added that she doesn't know about the language, so perhabs someone different made the written text. http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/ReaNolan -- Lieven L.
