Klingon Word of the Day for Monday, May 04, 2026 Klingon word: ngengHom Part of speech: noun Definition: pond Source: qepHom 2025 _______________________________________________ AFAIK not used in a sentence. The request for this word was: "a very small lake: a small body of still water formed naturally or by artificial means. e.g., a garden pond." SEE: ngeng lake (n) - mob qeylIS ngeng HeHDaq yIt And Kahless was alone walking along the shore (PB) [qepHom 2023, p.53] : A lake (ngeng) is completely surrounded by land. An ocean {bIQ'a'} is a large expanse of water which may be connected to one or more other {bIQ'a'mey}, including smaller ones often called seas in English. TREK NOTES: "The first [bat'leth] was forged by Kahless from a lock of his own hair which he placed in the lava from the Kri'stak volcano. He then plunged the burning lock into the lake of Lursor, twisted it into a blade and killed the evil tyrant Molor with it." (KLS) In the paq'batlh, the lava-filled area inside the volcano is referred to as {qul ngeng} ("fire lake"), and its border ("shore" in the English text) {qul ngeng HeH} (or simply {ngeng HeH}). This {HeH} is so hostile that even thranx ({tlheng'IQ}) does not grow there. Kri'stak's top is referred to as its {yor}. (PB) A holographic Klingon refers to "the sulfur pools of Gorrath" in VOY "Day of Honor".
