Klingon Word of the Day for Saturday, November 21, 2020 Klingon word: ngaH Part of speech: verb Definition: squeeze (an object) Source: qepHom 2015 p.18 _______________________________________________ AFAIK never used in a sentence. [Lieven < Marc Okrand, 10/29/2015]: To use a stapler or hole punch ("perforator, hole punch" {nIqDob}), you {qIp} it or {'uy} it or {ngaH} ("squeeze") it, depending on the device. But Maltz said that doesn't mean "squeeze" like squeezing into a tight space. That verb is {qoch}. (The object of this verb is the space - like a small car or a crowded elevator - being squeezed into, and this includes clothes or shoes that are too small.) For squeezing a toothpaste tube or for squeezing an orange, he said the verb is {ngaH}. (KGT 75-76): To alternately squeeze and stretch out the bag part of the {may'ron} is to {rey}. Another type of {SuSDeq}, the {DIron}, resembles and is played much like bagpipes. The verb that means squeeze the bag part of the {DIron}, usually with the elbow, is {qeb}. SEE ALSO: qoch squeeze into (a space) (v) qeb squeeze (windbag instrument) (v) rey squeeze (a windbag [SuSDeq} instrument) (v) tap mash, squash, squeeze (v) (PB) -- Voragh Ca'Non Master of the Klingons
