Klingon Word of the Day for Sunday, April 19, 2026 Klingon word: juch Part of speech: verb Definition: have a width of Source: Okrand on MSN [10/22/1997] _______________________________________________ (st.k [MSN] 10/22/1997): There are two words used for length: {'aD} and {'ab}. Both of these can be translated as "have a length of", but they are used somewhat differently. {'aD} is used in contrast with {juch} "have a width of" in measuring, say, a table top. (qep'a' 2020): Note also {bav} "circumference". For diameter, make use of {juch} "have a width of" (MO, qep'a' 2023): A common way of talking about these concepts is by making use of the verbs {'ab} (have a height of) and {juch} (have a width of). When used to specify location (as opposed to linear dimension), the objects of these verbs are expressed in degrees, {lawrI'(mey)}, so {X 'ab} could be translated "be at latitude X" and {X juch} could be "be at longitude X". Y lawrI' juch. It is at longitude Y degrees.
