Something external makes you really want to do it. {vaw} is a character trait: you have determination and forbearance and ambition, but not necessarily inspired be something from the outside. If you say 'I wanna be like him', that's {pIl}. When I decide to do something and I carry it out to its conclusion, that's {vaw}.
