But looking up the word {jom}, I read that its' meaning is "install (a device)". Could we use it for "install (a software)" too ?

That parenthetical is there to differentiate it from the sense of {Sugh} "install (in office)". Is installing software the same sense of "install" as installing a device? I'd say yes. -- De'vID
