If we want to say "during these two years you have irritated us", then which of the following would be correct ? qaStaHvIS cha'vam DIS nuberghmoH or qaStaHvIS cha' DISvam nuberghmoH And because someone, will probably say: don't use "these two years", use "the previous two years", here is another example: "as soon as we saw these two ships we became ready to fight" cha'vam Duj DIleghDI' maSuvrupchoH or cha' Dujvam DIleghDI' maSuvrupchoH So, the question is, whether we can place the {-vam} on a number. ~ nI'ghma
Disclaimer ahead: I'm not saying that this is correct, and I have no proof for reference. Am 24.11.2017 um 09:32 schrieb mayqel qunenoS:

Basically, numbers "can" act as nouns, so you should be able to do that. "I want these two" - {cha'vam vIneH}

qaStaHvIS cha'vam DIS nuberghmoH or qaStaHvIS cha' DISvam nuberghmoH
To me this is clearly {cha' DISvam} because it is "these [two years]" and not "[these two] years". -- Lieven L. Litaer aka the "Klingon Teacher from Germany" http://www.klingonisch.net http://www.klingonwiki.net/En/StarTrekDiscovery
