The {ghIntaq}, for example, is a battle spear, though it is also used ceremonially. The shaft of a spear is the {tIH}; the sharp tip or spearhead is the {QIn}. CULTURAL NOTES: {qa'vaq} *qa'vak* is a traditional game involving throwing a ghIntaq spear through rolling a half-meter hoop {gho} that hones the skills of the hunt. (Seen in TNG "Birthright, Part II".) A *gin'tak" is also an advisor so trusted he has been made part of the family.
