dates in New Klingon Words list
What do the dates in the New Klingon Words list refer to? It seems that all of the dates for the qepHom words are from 2015. The list says the first qepHom (in the narrow sense) occurred in 2002. qepHom 01/30/2015 01/31/2015 qepHom 9 01/30/2015 01/31/2015 qepHom 10 01/30/2015 01/31/2015 qepHom 11 01/30/2015 01/31/2015 qepHom 12 01/30/2015 01/31/2015 qepHom 13 01/30/2015 01/31/2015 02/02/2015 03/02/2015 qepHom 14 11/04/2015 qepHom 2015 p.12 10/30/2015 11/03/2015 qepHom 2015 p.13 10/30/2015 qepHom 2015 p.14 10/30/2015 qepHom 2015 p.18 10/30/2015 11/03/2015 qepHom 2015 p.19 10/30/2015 qepHom 2015 p.20 10/30/2015 qepHom 2015 p.21 10/30/2015 The words with just "qepHom" as the source are: beb mutlhwI' ghantoH jaQ jaQHa' majyang majyang mutlhwI' mutlh ngogh mutlhwI' pIQ pIQHa' qatlhDa' qorgh QemjIq taSman tlhIm vel velwI' wan wanHa' wejwa' 'och mutlhwI' 'o'wen 'ul pat mutlhwI' lay'tel SIvten

There are actually two dates in the database. One is when the word was first entered into the database, and the other is when it was last modified. You will see a lot of early 2015 dates, because that is when the major update took place to bring the list current after having stagnated for many years. It might be possible to go through the entire list and edit the "first entered" date to reflect when the word was actually made known to the Klingon-speaking community, instead of when it made it into the New Words List, but that would be a serious effort and I do not have the right kind of access to the data to make it happen well. -- ghunchu'wI'
