We’ve seen similar words to {chabal} “something desired or requested” – e.g. {potlh} “something important, consequential thing” but also {tu'HomI'raH} “something useless” and {Ho'} “something deserving of respect, someone worthy of emulation” (slang).

I see no reason why not.

chabal was given as a word on its own, independent of tetlh, in the new words list from the Saarbrücken qepHom'a' 2015. So it would seem it’s meant to be used without tetlh just as much as it is with tetlh.
