Hm... wait a second. First I was going to object, saying that vI- has a third person object. But I looked closer and remembered that {-lu'} reverses that. So it IS true that the /word/ has a first person object, but the prefix itself does NOT. 

No, the prefixes mean something different when used with -lu'. vI- means first-person singular object; wI- means first-person plural object; Da- means second-person singular object; bo- means second-person plural object. With -lu', these prefixes don't indicate any sort of subject.
