I'd get confused and would ask:

wa' vIghro' vIlegh'a' pagh vIghro'mey law' vIlegh'a'? 

If I wanted to say "While I walk, I see a single cat" I'd say {jIyIttaHvIS wa' vIghro' vIlegh} (one cat = a single cat).

To me, {ngIq} seems to imply one from a collection of things (one warrior out of many, one martial arts move out of many).
