Since the noun {woj} means "radiation", I'd expect the verb {woj} "sterilize", to mean "make free from hazardous biological agents", instead of "make animals unable to reproduce".

Surely, an animal exposed to radiation may become sterile, but usually someone would use radiation to kill bacteria, viruses, etc, rather than render an animal unable to reproduce.
