I remember also speaking with taD about his consistent use of HISlaH, who (don't quote me) seemed to explain that he chose to do so simply so that *someone* out there was using it.
 
I would put myself in the 'randomly-use-either-or' camp.

While reading through the thread, I starting thinking about how I would word my thoughts.  Qov's
response expresses exactly how it works with me.
