Here, the {ghaH} *has* to refer to the supernatural being, while at the same time not specifying who/what this being is. In other words it's the "He/Him" equivalent, we've been looking for.
I don't follow.
In order that the man honor HIM (as opposed to someone else), he made a monument.
I don't see how this implies a supernatural being. It could just
as easily refer to erecting a memorial building in the name of
Martin Luther King Jr.
