As soon as I woke up this morning and had some coffee, I re-read this thread, and luckily finally I understood.

Anyway though, even if the {qama''e' qIppu'bogh neH ghaH} *could* mean too "only the prisoner whom he/she hit", I wouldn't use it. Even if it *could* mean that, I'd prefer to write {qama''e' neH qIppu'bogh ghaH} eliminating any ambiguity.

I was just wondering (as always) how things work.
