It was Okrand who connected HovHom to paQjen, saying it was a slang version.  He may have simply been thinking that sequins can appear to be little stars.  But he might have thought how they twinkle and connected it through the song.  Occam's razor would indicate


 it is more likely just that he thought they looked like little stars.</div>
