(qepHom 2024 p.38):  For those times when it's different, use {ghen} "be operative, in effect, valid" (along with {DaH} when appropriate).  So you could say "now (currently), the valid number is unknown," which is equivalent to saying "the number that's valid now is unknown," which is equivalent to "the current number is unknown."  You could also use {ghen} to say something like "his driver's license is current." The slang term {tutlh} "be official" may be used instead of {ghen}.
